I'm a HUGE Tolkien and Jackson fan, the books, the movies etc. Cant get enough of it. This is a mixture of both the Hobbit Movies and the Book, I loved the first hobbit movie but Erebor didn't match 100% to what I saw in my head so I went back and looked at some of Tolkien's art work (He was a pretty awesome artist too i have to say) and his lake town is right in front of the entrance to the lonely mountain so I wanted to work on something that showed that, I think Jackson's laketown is further away because they have scaled it up to make the movie more epic (which is cool by me!) so yeah, i looked at all the maps of the lonely mountain and came up with this, its not as quite 'Lonely' in the sense that its around other smaller mountains but I wanted to show the branching arms and the Misty mountains in the distance too. Tolkien's maps are amazing to study alone so it's nice to work to things like this. I NEVER do fanart but I really couldn't resist, might try some more Tolkien stuff in the future! Not sure I am going to colour this one yet, I kind of like the Black and White. Feel free to give feedback
